Getting to Mount Vernon Hospital

The Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre is located on the Mount Vernon Hospital site in Northwood.

Car By Car


The address of the hospital is Rickmansworth Road, Northwood HA6 2RN. The hospital is well signposted from all major routes.

If you are using a satellite navigation system:

  • For Gates 1 & 2 (Rickmansworth Road), use: HA6 2RN
  • For Gate 3 (White Hill), use: WD3 1PZ


There are several car parks on the hospital site but parking cannot be guaranteed.

There is a charge for parking in all car parks at all times, including evenings and weekends. Please ensure you park in a marked bay otherwise you may be issued with a penalty notice.

Cancer patients may park at a concessionary rate of £1 but must register for this:

  • Registration forms are available at Cancer Centre Reception and on the back of appointment letters
  • On your first visit to Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, take your registration form to the Facilities Office or Car Parking Office (open Monday - Friday: 8.00am -12.00pm & 1.00pm - 4.00pm)
  • You will be issued with a yellow Concessionary Parking Permit (valid for six months)
  • Entering the site via Gate 1 or Gate 3: Buy a £1 Concession ticket at the Pay & Display machine; display this on your dashboard with your yellow permit (may be used in any car).
  • Entering the site via Gate 2: Pay on exit by typing your car registration number in the machine; you will be charge £1 and the barrier will rise automatically. You do not need to display your yellow permit but only the registered car can be used in this car park.

Blue badge holders holders do not need to register.

Pay £1 at the Pay & Display machine; display the ticket with your Blue Badge on your dashboard.

Please note that parking is not permitted on the roads that run through the hospital.

There are some designated parking spaces for disabled drivers closer to some of the buildings. You still need to pay to park in these spaces.

Shuttle Bus: This free service runs throughout the day (Monday - Friday) between Hillingdon Hospital (A&E department) and Mount Vernon Hospital (main entrance).

Tube By Underground

  • Take the tube to Northwood station (Metropolitan line)

  • Take the 282, 331 or H11 bus from the station to the Hospital
