Local company donates time, materials and tools to help repair Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre

A team of staff from Skanska UK gave up their Saturday to give the LJMC a facelift. The company not only gave their staff the time off work to do the painting, they also donated the materials and tools.

Head of LJMC, Rosemary Lucey, said “What a huge difference this project has made. The team’s hard work has transformed the building and made it a warmer, more welcoming environment for patients to visit. This facelift reflects the passion of the LJMC staff to provide the best possible service to people affected by cancer. We cannot thank the Skanska team enough for their hard work.”

Chris Butcher, Skanska Works Manager, said: “The event was a fantastic way for Skanska to give something back to the local community and help support the great work that the centre does. It was more than a paint job for us, it’s helping create an environment of solace and encouragement for all that walk through the doors of this fantastic facility. It has been an honour and a pleasure to be part of this project.''
